Our Partners

Please meet some of the folks who've partnered with GLF to diversify and strengthen the farm!

Liz Coakley, new Vegetable Grower with GLF.  Liz‘s favorite moment each year is when the first peas sprout.  Since her arrival in Ithaca in 2005, Liz has worked on numerous farms in the area, learning from the philosophies of local growers.  In 2010, she took off with her mischievous dog to run a one-woman/one-dog market garden in Nova Scotia.  Growing vegetables on her own was fun, but sometimes overwhelming, and she was homesick.  Liz returned to Ithaca determined to farm in this community. She’s excited to work with Melissa and Garrett  and to grow annual vegetables with the help of their beautiful horses.

Sean Dembrosky co-manages the 24 acres of forest at The Good Life Farm.  With a focus on appropriate and hand powered technology, he's worked with Melissa and Garrett to source fencing for the farm and elsewhere, building materials for simple structures, logs for small-scale mushroom production, firewood, forest farming with useful perennials and managed trees, and more.  He's also owner of the Edible Acres project in Trumansburg, NY, just south of the farm by a few miles.  Here he works on forest farming plant propagation and experiments, garden design and permaculture influenced and management techniques.  He is available for consultation, garden designs, plant stock, forest management and more.  He can be reached at seandembrosky@gmail.com, or by visiting www.edibleacres.org
